Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, the time has finally come for the fight of the decade.
The battle we have all been waiting for.
Now is the time to see who will come out on top.
Will it be carpet? Or will it be tile?
Time will only tell as we watch them battle.
We will pick apart their strengths and weaknesses and in the end, there will only be one winner.
Who will it be?
Let’s welcome carpet into the ring.
(the crowd goes wild)
And let’s bring in tile.
(the crowd keeps cheering)
Round 1– Cost
This round looks like it will be the most evenly matched. It all comes down to how much money it costs to install carpet or tile.
On average, carpet costs about $2-$15 dollars per square foot depending on the type of carpet you are looking for.
Tile costs about $4-$12 dollars per square foot.
There is little difference in the prices between carpet and tile. If you are really looking to pinch your pennies, than carpet would be the winner of this round for lowest cost.
But, let’s wait for the other rounds to see who comes out on top–will it be carpet or tile?
Round 2– Health Advantages And Disadvantages
Bring on round two of carpet vs. tile! Let’s see if this round is as evenly matched as the last round.
Let’s go carpet! Let’s go tile! Let the round begin.
For carpet, this may not be its strongest round.
A weak point with carpet, in comparison to tile, is how food, dust, and dirt can collect in the carpet fibers.
When the carpet fibers are full of grime, there are a few issues that may arise.
One of the issues is that the carpet will begin to discolor when its fibers are full of dirt and other particles that don’t belong there.
The other issue is that the particles stuck in the fibers will create allergies in the home.
No matter how much you vacuum, those stubborn crumbs from last month’s pizza will stay buried in there for who knows how long.
It’ll probably stay until you call up Zerorez® Tucson and get a good carpet cleaning.
Tile doesn’t win this round in a landslide, though.
It too has its weaknesses when it comes to health.
You know that moment when you’re rushing around the kitchen to try and cook up a meal before you have to head out the door and with a few drops of water on the floor, you find yourself sprawled out on the tile having just suffered a fall from a splash of water making the tile slippery.
It looked like the round was going to end without tile receiving any sort of hit, but carpet was able to pull through a bit towards the end.
Round 3- Wear and Tear
Ding! Ding! Ding! Let round three begin!
How do carpet and tile compare when it comes to wear and tear?
Only time will tell who comes out on top in this round. Tile comes in with a large hit with its overall ability to withstand wear and tear.
When you spill a glass of milk on tile, you soak it up with a towel and you’re good to go.
When you kids run through your tiled hallway with muddy shoes, you grab your mop and clean up the mess.
Tile doesn’t come out of the fight totally clean though.
Have you noticed that the grout up against the wall and under the rug is a nice light shade while everything else is… well, about as dark as the night sky?
Luckily, Zerorez® Tucson can clean up your tiles and get them looking new.
Aside from the easiness to clean the tile, it does withstand a lot of different things no matter what stage of life you are in.
If your toddler is throwing those mashed carrots again that he absolutely hates, you can clean up the mess with ease.
Or think about your daughter who is experimenting with makeup again with her closest friends.
A few spills of makeup on the tile will do no harm.
But, imagine if your daughter and her closest friends were in her room, with carpet, and she spills the makeup.
You better have Zerorez® Tucson on speed dial because you are going to be calling them lots.
Stains and carpet can be tricky business but luckily Zerorez® Tucson has the technology that will get rid of those stains and leave your carpets looking fresh and clean!
Did we just have a knockout?
Is carpet down?
Almost. But not quite. I think carpet still has a fighting chance to come back after this round.
Round 4- Comfort
The last and final round!
Both carpet and tile will need to give it their all in order to come out on top.
This round all comes down to the comfort level of each.
Do you ever think about laying down on a tile floor? Probably not very often.
What about a plush carpet? Now that sounds more inviting.
Imagine this–it’s a cold, windy winter day in Tucson is making the air run right through your bones.
You can’t wait to get home and snuggle up. You walk in the door, take off your shoes.
You take two steps on the tile floor and you start dashing over to the carpet to find some comfort after a long, cold day.
Looks like tile took a hard hit on this round. Carpet still might be in this!
We’ve seen all the rounds and now it’s time to determine who is the winner of the battle of carpet vs. tile.
Let’s review what went down in each round.
In the first round, it was a close battle but carpet came out on top with being the least expensive option. Round two wasn’t as close.
Tile pulled through in that round with being a better option for your health.
And The Winner Is…
Round three wasn’t as evenly matched as tile proved that it is easy to clean and will withstand the every dirt and grime that is in the house.
Carpet came out of nowhere in round four to show us that carpet truly is the comfiest and coziest option for your home.
And the winner is…
It’s a tie!
Both carpet and tile are great options.
It truly depends on the lifestyle you live and what you are looking for in flooring.
Now you know that carpet and tile are different and each have their advantages and disadvantages.
